    *Updated 2009 Mar 11th*

I been playing the heck out of Rock Band 2 recently, and I wanted to list here all of the songs that I’ve purchased, so that any of my friends and family that want to hook up online can grab any songs they like that we have in common.

    Bummer! HP replaces it’s 2605dn.

    By Derek | February 26, 2009

Just found out while doing some research for a customer that HP has discontinued it’s 2605 series of printers.

What a bummer! They were inexpensive, reliable printers.

The good news is that they’ve replaced them with a new series. If you’re looking for an equivalent to the 2605dn, check out the new P2055dn.

Hopefully the new series will be just as nice.

Weekend Camping 2008, Gila National Forest

    By Derek | October 21, 2008

I spent the weekend in the Gila National Forest with my son, brothers and my dad. My dad, Austin and I drove up. We left about 3 A.M. on Thursday morning. My brother Ben flew into Phoenix, met up with my other brother Joel, and they drove the RV from there.

Here’s a link to my photos.

My brother Ben also took some photos, they live here.

    It was a blast.

    KilaDesigns.com is now live!

    By Derek | September 8, 2008

I’ve been helping my wife set up her web store so that she can sell jewelry on-line.

We’ve been working on the store for a few weeks, and it’s now ready to go. Check it out! The store is powered by Zen Cart, which seems pretty nice.

Buy something for your Significant Other!

    Stayed Home Today

    By Derek | August 12, 2008

Last night I had sharp pains in my abdomen, on the lower right side.

Jill and I were thinking it was my appendix, so we went to the Texas Med Clinic.

The doctor informed us that if it was my appendix, I would know soon enough, but that there weren’t any real tests, other than an expensive CAT scan that would tell us.

He also declined to charge us anything for our visit!!

Basically, he said to keep an eye on it for a couple of days, and eat light.

During the night, I had almost a 102 degree fever, but when I woke up I was feeling much better.

So today, I stayed home from work, and ate soup. It still hurts a little, but I can move around much better now.

Time will tell, I suppose. I mean, if my appendix bursts, according to the doctor, I’ll know it by the excruciating pain.

    4e DnD, Third-Party Character Sheets.

    By Derek | July 26, 2008

I found some great third-party 4e character sheets on the web. You can get them from here:
    http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=229026

Of course, you’ll have to have an account there to download them.

Otherwise you can download them directly from here:
    Character-Sheet-4e-Shado-1.2.zip 1.8MB Zip

I have also created a Role Playing Sheet using Shado’s style. My created sheet includes Character Background / Appearance / Personality & Portrait slots.
    Character-Sheet-4e-ShadoStyle-RP-1.0.pdf 1.0MB PDF

If you’d like the source file for it, and you have a Mac with iWork, drop me a line, and I’ll shoot you over the Pages file the PDF is based on. I added text boxes to it, so that you could type in your character’s info. I don’t expect this page changes much throughout your character’s career… well, at least not *every* week.

4e DnD, Good Fun At Fallcrest!

    By Derek | July 26, 2008

Well, we played 4e DnD last night. I must say, the combat moves much quicker than 3e used to.

David ran our game, and Stephen brought his son. With myself and my son in the game, we had 4 player characters, so David decided to throw an NPC in with us, just to help balance. Most 4e dungeons / encounters are setup for 5 players. Our fifth player had some trouble at the last minute, and couldn’t make it.

We started the sample adventure that’s included with the DMG, Fallcrest. We explored the town a bit, and then headed off to where the kobolds were supposed to be.

I really like the game play, so far.

    DnD 4e

    By Derek | July 19, 2008

Last night my friend David came over, and we made Dungeons and Dragons 4e characters.

He had already made one, so he kinda knew the drill, but it was my first one.

We also helped my son, Austin, make one, too.

I created a male Eladrin Wizard named Valaar. Austin made a male Dragonborn Warlord. David made a female Halfling Cleric.

I really like the mechanic so far, it seems to streamline many things, while leaving the general “feel” of the game intact.

I’ve played DnD since middle school, before AD&D 2nd Edition was released, and it’s nice to see the progression.

Of course, it’s been years since I stopped playing, at this point. We’re trying to get a game together for Friday (or maybe every other Friday) nights.

    Anyone in?
