Frito Pie, Robotics, Meetup
By Derek | October 15, 2019
A good Tuesday. (15th)
Stayed up late last night, so slept in a bit this morning. Puttered around the house until lunchtime.
Our favorite place for Tuesday lunch.
After lunch, Robotics twice.
Cloned the neighbors laptop HDD to their new SSD. Disassembled the laptop, installed the new drive and the RAM upgrade, re-assembled. Works great, and much quicker now.
This is the third Tuesday, so I had Python Meetup at 7p. Heard some rumors about new Meetup pricing. I’ll have to look into this.
Watched a movie with the family before bed.

Exercise, Work, Eat, Game
By Derek | October 14, 2019
A good Monday. (14th)
Trying to get my exercise routine back on track in the mornings, so I got up early (for a day off) to ride the bike.
Worked for a customer, they had an issue with an old version of Lotus. Turns out, 123r5 is no longer compatible with Windows 7 32-bit, even though it worked a week ago. Probably some new security update fixed something that a 30 year old program needed. Good thing their 123r9 still works, so they have access to their data. Was there for a bit, also got to install a USB3 PCIe card in their PC. That’s pretty neat.
Got my new m2 SSD in today, and cloned my older, smaller SATA SSD to it. System’s back up and running, very quickly, same load of Windows. I took the opportunity to migrate some of my Steam Games (and a couple others) to the new, larger SSD.
Had dinner with the family at Pei Wei. Every once in a while they do two adult entrees for $10. It’s too good of a deal to pass up.
Got back to the house and got to play Star Citizen for a while. Got together with a couple of guys from my org to do some hand-held mining, which I hadn’t done before. Took us a bit to get to a cave, but once we did, the mining gameplay is pretty cool. You have to point the mining laser at a rock with an ore vein in it, then heat up the rock using power settings on the tool. Too much heat and the rock will explode. Right amount of heat and the rock just shatters so that you can put the ore pieces in your backpack.

Work, MCU, Minecraft
By Derek | October 13, 2019
A good Sunday. (13th)
Working today to make up some hours from my doctors appointments and PT sessions.
Also worked on my MCU Timeline post. Added a couple of things.
After work I ordered some parts to upgrade the neighbors laptop. They’re moving to an SSD to greatly increase their speed.
Watched a few episodes of Agents of Shield, season 4.
Exercised and watched an episode of Skyland. My younger son and I have been watching that.
Then, he wanted me to setup a local Minecraft (in MultiMC) with a few different mods to try out, so we spent a good amount of time on that.

Some of this is taken directly from Inverse[1], but apparently, they’ve stopped updating their list.
Added some new shows & movies with information pulled from mcu-timeline [2]. An interesting thing about their list is they tell you where to split the TV seasons and watch the movies. You should check it out!

Work, Firefly, Star Citizen
By Derek | October 12, 2019
A good Saturday. (12th)
Regular work day for me, working my primary project.
Finished Agent Carter, season 2. It ended on a cliffhanger, but got cancelled. Thanks, ABC/Disney.
Bunch of TV morons who cancel shows willy-nilly without giving the show runners even a couple of episodes to wind it down. Grumble, grumble, Firefly, grumble.
Went downtown and visited 2nd Saturday. Some neat art vendors down there.
Played some Star Citizen before bed. Had some fun trying to fit a ship that was a tad too large into another ship.
Needless to say, it shouldn’t have worked, but it did. For a time.
Then we had to mess with it…
… and ended up blowing it up.
Off to bed!

Swagger, TV, TFL
By Derek | October 11, 2019
A good Friday. (11th)
Woke up late, since we went to bed so late from our ER trip.
Got to work immediately (WFH) so I jumped on and started working my secondary/documentation project. Got to learn about how API docs are made and work with swagger.io.
Watched some Agent Carter. I’m about ½ done with season 2.
Jill picked up all the meds I was prescribed last night, I’ll be taking those for a few days until this kidney stone can pass.
Luckily, no pain today.
Downloaded Tales From the Loop RPG, from DriveThru, they’re giving it away today. Read a bit of it before bed, it seems pretty neat.

Abdomen, ER edition
By Derek | October 10, 2019
Thursday. (10th)
Regular workday.
Volunteered at the RackerGamers t-shirt and loot table during lunch.
Got some work done on my primary project.
Went home early due to abdominal pain. The doc prescribed my medicine for the pain, but it was at home. So, I went home and took one. Didn’t seem to do much.
Finished my shift from home, but Spent most of the evening in pain. Around 11:30pm, we decided to go to the ER.
When we got there, Jill dropped me off, and before I could get checked in, and before she got back from parking the car, I lost my dinner. Which is surprising, cause I hadn’t felt well enough to eat any. So, I suppose it was my lunch.
Well, they confiscated some fluids, and ran me through a CAT scan. They confirmed I have a 4mm kidney stone.
Got out of ER around 3am. They’ve sent me home with some prescriptions to a) lower the pain, b) fight nausea, c) make my flow faster (to push out the stone faster), d) muscle relaxer.
I’m exhausted, and we still have to drop off the scrips.
Note: even though this post was finished after 3am, On the 11th, I have it posted at 11:55pm, to keep the correct date on it.

Medical, Work, TV
By Derek | October 9, 2019
Medical Wednesday. (9th)
Started off today with a doctor’s appointment, at my primary care doctor, to look into my abdominal pain, after all, it happened 3 times in 4 days. Doctor (PA) wanted to schedule me for an ultrasound. So, I got that scheduled for the afternoon.
Second, went to physical therapy, this week it’s on Monday & Wednesday. I have homework, and my legs are tired from the exercise.
Third, off to STRIC for my ultrasound. That went well, and quickly, not too bad. They’ll send the results to my doctor.
Finally, got home so that I could work. Yes, today is a regular work day for me. Working my primary project.
Finished Luke Cage, season 1. Updated my MCU Timeline post.
Started Agents of Shield, season 4. It gets… supernatural, fast.
Then I remembered that I hadn’t finished (or started) Agent Carter, season 2. I’ll have to do that tomorrow.

Abdomen, again.
By Derek | October 8, 2019
Tuesday. (8th)
Had the pain in my abdomen again shortly after I woke up. It seemed not as bad this time, but it still hung around for a couple of hours.
Didn’t go to lunch with the family today, cause I didn’t feel good. After the pain dissipated I took a shower and went back upstairs to watch some Luke Cage season 1.
Scheduled a doctor’s appointment to see about my abdomen pain. Today is the third day out of four that it’s happened.
Stayed upstairs during the first part of Robotics, but I finally had to come down just to get something to eat, as I hadn’t eaten anything all day.
Went to drop my younger son off at martial arts. Played a little Pokemon (Raid Hour) while we were out.
Came back and did my exercises for the day, then played some Star Citizen before bed. Made a couple of highlight videos:
